Education Program in Reproduction & Development

Graduate Diploma in Reproductive Sciences

The Graduate Diploma in Reproductive Sciences nurtures an interest in reproductive biology and its application to human and vetinary medicine. Students gain the knowledge and laboratory skills necessary for immediate employment in assisted reproductive technologies, reproductive research programs, basic laboratory activities and animal breeding improvement. This degree also serves as a stepping stone to the Master of Reproductive Sciences or the Master of Clinical Embryology. The course can be undertaken one-year, full-time, or part time over two years.

Five core and two elective units are delivered using a variety of teaching modes including lectures, tutorials, journal reviews, poster presentations, site visits, short practical projects and discussion groups.

Entrance requirements

The Graduate Diploma in Reproductive Sciences is available to candidates with Bachelors degrees from approved tertiary institutions in the following areas:

  • Science with a major in any of the following areas: anatomy, biochemistry, biology, genetics, pharmacology, physiology, microbiology, immunology or zoology
  • Nursing
  • Medicine
  • Veterinary Science
  • Equivalent qualifications
  • International applicants require IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in reading and listening and 6 in speaking and writing

Assessment

Assessment is by journal review presentations,essays, a minor research project and examinations.
