Student InformationIn the final semester of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, students undertake an extended placement in a community or public health nutrition setting. The students work on addressing a community or public health nutrition issue relevant to the community or setting in which they are based. They are required to use the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous years of the course to design and conduct a project in public health nutrition. The projects vary in their nature and purpose, however each are considered in the context of a health promotion program planning cycle . The projects selected are not contrived for the purpose of training students they are purposeful tasks that have been selected on the basis that they are useful to the organisation. The student’s abstract provide a summary of the work conducted at the relevant placement organisation. They provide future students, placement organisations and the field with an overview of the work in the field. 1st Year Orientation Manual : 2009 3rd Year Orientation Manual : 2009 Immunisation and Infection Risk : Nutrition and Dietetics Students Abstracts 2008 – Program Planning |
