Simon Cooper is a registered nurse with a management degree, masters in education and PhD in resuscitation leadership.  He started his career working in critical care departments across the South of England, before becoming a Resuscitation Officer and Head of Education for an ambulance service.

He worked at the University of Plymouth (UK) managing a Masters degree in Advanced Healthcare Practice (nurse practitioner registration) before moving to Monash University where he is now Director of Research for the School of Nursing & Midwifery.

His research interests focus on the first hour of acute care, including survival prediction models, leadership, teamwork, emerging practice roles, inter-professional education, simulation and management of patient deterioration.
