Dr Ian MunroPhD, M.A.Nsg.(Admin.), B.App.Sci.(Adv.Nsg), RN, RPNSenior Lecturer and Principle Community Mental Health Nurse; joint appointment. School of Nursing and Midwifery, Monash University, Peninsula Campus, Frankston and Peninsula Health Community Mental Health Service.
Brief BioDr Ian Munro joined Monash University in 2009 in the first joint appointment between Peninsula Health and Monash University, School of Nursing and Midwifery as a Senior Lecturer and Principle Community Mental Health Nurse. Before joining Monash Ian had extensive teaching responsibility at Deakin University School of nursing, both at undergraduate and post graduate level. His main clinical area has been within the community mental health area where he has held senior roles and was involved in practice development for community mental health nurses. Ian’s research interests include mental health, employment opportunities for people who have a mental illness, social inclusion, marginalisation, HIV/AIDS, Gay men, Homophobia and substance mis/use. The main methodology that Ian prefers is qualitative research.
