Program entries

General Information Area (GIA):

Course and careers advice will be available in the GIA (see map) on all areas of undergraduate and postgraduate study related to Health-related courses at the Peninsula campus of Monash University.

You are encouraged to attend specific career information sessions and activities throughout the day to broaden you understanding of possible careers in the health industry.

Information sessions:

11 – 11.30am, George Jenkins Theatre
Physiotherapy at Monash University - a short overview of the course and career opportunities by Professor Jenny Keating

11.30am – 12 noon, George Jenkins Theatre
General careers information session involving a 5 minute presentation from the following areas:

  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Paramedics
  • Psychology and Business
  • Physiotherapy

11.30am – 1.30pm
Free BBQ run by the Monyx in the area outside the George Jenkins Theatre

12 - 12.30pm, George Jenkins Theatre
Occupational Therapy – study and career opportunities in OT, by Ms Rebecca Allen

1 – 1.30pm, George Jenkins Theatre
General careers information session involving a 5 minute presentation from the following areas:

  • Midwifery
  • Paramedics
  • Psychology
  • Social Work

Practical Demonstrations and Tours

10.30am, Carpark beside Building H
 Ambulance Paramedics – Ambulance Helicopter “drop in”.
Please note this is dependant upon availability on the day

11.30am, laboratories B144 and B147, Building B
Physiotherapy – staff and current students will provide examples of teaching and learning opportunities in the Monash Physiotherapy course

12 noon, beside Building H
Ambulance Paramedics – vehicle extrication demonstration using student paramedics and SES personnel

All day, Ground floor, Building H
Ambulance paramedics - staff available to show you through the simulation area

All day, Building E
Nursing – blood sugar testing and blood pressure testing

Getting There

Peninsula campus map and contact information

Peninsula campus is located 43 kilometres from the city of Melbourne.

Travelling to Peninsula campus

By car: the trip from Melbourne will take about one hour in peak hour and 40 minutes at other times. If you are travelling from Melbourne Airport add another 45 minutes.
By train: catch a Frankston line train to Frankston and connect with buses on routes 775, 776, 782 and 783. Alternatively, catch a Stony Point train to Leawarra station, which is a short walk from the campus.

Parking at Peninsula campus

Parking is available on campus for staff and students based on a permit system. Visitors to the campus have access to metered parking located at various points around campus.
