Project Summary

Hematopoiesis is a fundamentally important process that maintains the immune system throughout life; however, with age and following cytotoxic antineoplastic therapies there is a significant decline in lymphopoietic recovery. Continuing previous work demonstrating the beneficial effects of sex steroid ablation (SSA) on lymphoid reconstitution, Jarrod is investigating the role of the earliest bone marrow and thymic-derived hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells in this regenerative process.
