Micromon is offering substantial price reductions for its sequencing service with the Illumina MiSeq instrumentation. Based on Illumina's proven TruSeq "Sequencing By Synthesis" chemistry, running in conjunction with updated and streamlined hardware, the MiSeq allows researchers to go from sample to data in as little as seven days. The capacity of the new instrument enables smaller projects to be completed in a more cost-effective way with lower entry-point pricing. The MiSeq is capable of generating up to 7Gb of sequence per run from up to 34 million reads with as good or better accuracy than Micromon's current Genome Analyzer IIx based sequencing service. In addition to the sequencing instrument and service, Micromon has also introduced a range of new applications that are optimised for the MiSeq such as Human Custom Amplicon sequencing, long-read metagenomics and many more.
