Over 250 guests attended the Launch, including the guest of honour Michael Kirby AC CMG, and distinguished members of the judiciary, academia, public service and non-government organisations.
In his speech Mr Sidibé spoke of his great admiration for Michael Kirby and paid tribute to his contribution to promoting human rights-based approaches to health. Mr Sidibé also presented Michael Kirby with a UNAIDS medal.
Mr Sidibé also announced that UNAIDS intended to enter into a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre to collaborate on future projects.
