Course Structure

The MHlthSci is delivered primarily via off-campus learning and can be completed in one of two ways:

  • Coursework units only; or
  • A combination of coursework units and a project or minor thesis. Students who successful complete this option with a distinction average for their research project or minor thesis, may articulate to a Higher Degree by Research.

Course Requirements

Core Units

Students complete a total of 72 credit-points, and will be required to complete 12 credit-points comprising of two core research units. In addition, students will be required to complete a further 12 credit-points of elective units, chosen from the wide range of masters-level units offered by the Faculty. The choice of electives will need the approval of the course coordinator. Students are also required to complete the units from on the streams of study in either Option One or Option Two, as indicated in the online handbook.

Assessment

Assessment includes written assignments and papers, projects, student journals, literature reviews and online discussion groups.

Exit Points

Students have the option to alternatively exit from the program with a graduate certificate or graduate diploma, provided that the requirements of the alternative exit have been met.
