Stroke Fellowship

This one year fellowship, undertaken at Monash Medical Centre, comprises of 50 percent clinical and 50 percent research time. Clinical involvement includes sessions in both TIA and Stroke Prevention Clinics run through Monash Neurology as well as acute thrombolysis cases. An emphasis is placed on providing education to colleagues with the fellow expected to participating in teaching of students, residents, registrars, multidisciplinary and emergency department staff. The opportunity exists to participate in local, national and international stroke trials as well as Monash led initiatives. The fellow in expected to complete at least one project in the field of stroke medicine with the view to publication. Supervision is provided by A/Prof Thanh Phan .

Fellowship in Geriatric Neurology

This one year fellowship, undertaken at Monash Medical Centre, comprises of 50 percent clinical and 50 percent research time. Clinical involvement includes sessions in both TIA and Stroke Prevention Clinics and in a cognitive clinic run through Monash Neurology. Experience will also be gained in acute thrombolysis cases and stroke team management. An emphasis is placed on providing education to collegues with the fellow expected to participating in teaching of students, residents, registrars, multidisciplinary and emergency department staff. The opportunity exists to conduct analyses on data in several major projects in brain ageing. The fellow in expected to complete at least one project in the field of brain ageing with the view to publication. Supervision is provided byDr. Velandai Srikanth.
