Computational Image Analysis

(Dr. Richard Beare)

The Computational Image Analysis group has developed methods for efficient semi-automated segmentation of white matter hyperintensities, carried out structural analysis using voxel-based morphometry, spherical harmonic based shape analysis of brain structures and contributed to multivariate analysis using partial least squares (PLS). Large studies (eg TASCOG) have necessitated the development of automated and semi-automated methods for reliable and efficient processing of imaging data. Dr Beare has been integral to the development of new tools for vascular modelling and structural analysis and computational anatomy of animal models.
