Department of Medicine Alfred Hospital

The Department of Medicine, Central and Eastern Clinical School, Alfred Hospital, is a centre for clinical and biomedical research and education, offering undergraduate and postgraduate study programs.

The Department of Medicine is an integral part of the Alfred Medical Research and Education Precinct (AMREP), one of Australia's most exciting new developments in Biomedical Science, bringing together in one site, world leaders in biomedical and clinical research.

Research at the Department of Medicine encompasses predominantly programs in Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Disease, Ethics in Medicine and Society, Infectious Diseases, Neuroscience, Organ Transplantation, Renal Disease, Respiratory Medicine and Rheumatology In addition, research undertaken in many other departments of Alfred Healthcare Group are linked, to a varying degree, to the activities of the Department of Medicine and programs of collaborative research.

POST GRADUATE SYMPOSIUM 2008

We aim to improve the visibility of students and their research projects on a larger scale and celebrate their achievements.
This year, nine nominated PhD students will showcase their results at the Post Graduate Symposium on Wednesday 6th August.
