Dr Leanna Darvall
Dr Leanna Darvall is the Co-ordinator of the Medical Law Tutorial Program and author of the medical law class materials. A graduate of the Law Faculty, Melbourne University, she subsequently completed a Doctorial Thesis at Monash University concerning a comparative analysis of the regulation of the promotional practices of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Australia and the United States. She has written and researched extensively in the area of medical law. Her publications include:
Medicine, Law and Social Change: the impact of bioethics, feminism and rights movements on medical decision-making. Dartmouth, Aldershot, 1993.
Her recent research includes: Medico-Legal knowledge of General Practitioners: Disjunctions, Errors and Uncertainties, co-authored with Ms Marilyn McMahon and Professor Leon Piterman: 7 Journal of Law and Medicine 2001, p167.

Current research interests and activities include:
- Developing Medical Law educational packages for international medical graduates
- Health and Human Rights issues with reference to indigenous populations.
