Recent Awards & Achievements of MISCL researchers

January 2012 - Monash researchers lead creation of heart cells. Dr David Elliott, Prof. Andrew Elefanty and Prof. Ed Stanley's research into the development of ES cell-derived heart cells is featured in the latest M3 magazine. (pdf, 893 Kb)

December, 2011 - Winner of the Kay Patterson Award for 2011 - Ms Jacqueline Schiesser.

29th October, 2011 - Fundraiser Ball hosted by Darebin City Council raised over $110,000 for MS Research at MISCL.

25th October, 2011 - PhD Awarded to Natalie Payne: "Stem cell transplantation as a novel cell-based approach to treat autoimmune-mediated demyelination"

17th October, 2011 - NHMRC Career Development Fellowship awarded to Dr. Jose M. Polo: Determining the events that occur during the reprogramming of different adult cells into embryonic stem-like cells and the capacity of becoming another spcific adult cell during this process.

16th May, 2011 - Winding back the clock with kidney stem cells

Top scientists hang up their lab coats for stem cell research fundraising efforts. All proceeds from the calendar sales benefit the Sabrina Cohen Foundation and will be earmarked towards funding stem cell research.
