Gamini is a Visiting Academic from Sri Lanka working with our Health Services Management Unit. During the last two years, he has been in charge of the Regional Training Centre at Kdugannawa which conducts basic training programmes for preventive health staff, medical, dental and nursing students. The centre also organises training programmes for all categories of staff in the Health Department.

Gamini also holds the position of Consultant Community Phyician, Central Province and is Technical Advisor to the Provincial Ministry of Health. He manages all preventive, promotional and rehabilitative activities in the Central Province including maternal and child health, adolescent and elderly health, school health, control of communicable diseases, environmental health, occupational health and health promotion. He is involved in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme interventions in keeping with the national policies and guidelines.
