Desmond is the Project Manager for all global health and international matters for the International Public Health Unit, as well as the Manager of the APACPH Directorate Office.

Originally from Singapore, Desmond moved to Auckland and completed his MSc in Medical Science, specialising in molecular genetics. He then went to work in health research and administration. Before moving to Melbourne, he worked for the Health Research Council of New Zealand as the Public Health Research Coordinator.
