Dr Jahar Choudhury received a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2004.  His thesis investigated various statistical procedures for estimation in the area of competing risks analysis. 

Jahar joined the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University as a Research Fellow in April 2006. Previously, he worked as Research Fellow in various biomedical, socioeconomics, financial and educational institutes in Bangladesh and Australia, and also taught statistics to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the UWA and Curtin University of Technology.

Jahar's research interests include survival analysis, survey sampling, research methodology, epidemiological study designs and clinical trials, analysis of longitudinal data as well as Monte Carlo methods of inference. Jahar has published his research in refereed journals and made several presentations at national and international seminars and conferences.
