Anthony Koelmeyer International PhD Excellence Award

 

About the Awards

The Anthony Koelmeyer International PhD Excellence Award provides financial assistance to postgraduate students for international conference attendance and laboratory visits.

Up to three awards, to the value of $1500 each, will be awarded annually.

Successful candidates will be selected for this award based on:

  • the outlined opportunity that international travel to a conference and/or laboratory visit will enhance their PhD experience.
  • progression through candidature.
  • evidence of previous research excellence (manuscripts, publications, conference attendance).
  • contribution to the paper or poster which is being presented.

Application closing date:  Friday 4th May 2012.

Past winners

2011

  • Andrew Clarke, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, to present his work at an immunology conference in Greece,  and to visit labs in England, Scotland and Wales.
  • Sarah Hass Lockie, Department of Physiology, to present her work at the Society for Ingestive Behaviour meeting in Florida, and to visit labs  in Michigan and Ohio.
  • Jeffery Moore, Department of Pharmacology, to present his work at the American Heart Association’s High Blood Pressure Research Scientific Sessions in Florida, and to visit colleagues at Emory University, Atlanta.
