Days at Health Informatics Education: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Co-ordinator of postgraduate courses in health informatics. 

Lecturer with experience in on-campus and distance education teaching in both health informatics and information systems subjects. Has taught for Monash University, Monash Malaysia, Melbourne Business School and The University of Melbourne.  Subjects taught include Healthcare Information Systems, Healthcare Information Systems Management, Electronic Health Record, Knowledge Management, Project Management, Electronic Commerce, Systems Analysis, Human Computer Interaction and Research Methods.

Formal qualifications include Bachelor of  Science, Graduate Diploma in Computing and Graduate Certificate in Higher Education completed at Monash, and Master of Management (Technology) completed at Melbourne Business School, The University of Melbourne.

Worked in software development for large corporate organisations, including banks, insurance companies and government organisations, before moving into academia.   

Current research interests include:

• Communities of practice in healthcare education contexts
• Communication in cross-functional teams
• The improvement of communication amongst allied health professionals involved in foster care
• Online social networks

• Electronic Health Record
• Project Management for Health Professionals
• Health Promotion and Management of Health Knowledge
• Evaluation Methodologies in Healthcare Settings

Hobbies and interests outside of work include: 

• being a volunteer for AngelFlight
• swimming, dancing, and almost anything to do with aviation
• gardening, travel and photography
• researching family history.
