Days at Health Informatics Education: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Course  co-ordinator of the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Health Informatics - 2006. 

Lecturer with experience in on-campus and distance education teaching in both health informatics and information systems subjects. Has taught for Monash University, Monash Malaysia, Melbourne Business School and The University of Melbourne.  Subjects taught include Health Information Systems, Health Informations Systems Management, Electronic Health Record, Knowledge Management, Project Management, Electronic Commerce, Systems Analysis, Human Computer Interaction and Research Methods.

Formal qualifications include Bachelor of  Science and Graduate Diploma in Computing  completed at Monash, and Master of Management (Technology) completed at Melbourne Business School.  Member of the Australian College of Health Informatics. Currently undertaking a PhD with the Department of Information Systems at the University of Melbourne. 

Worked in software development for large corporate organisations, including banks, insurance companies and government organisations, before deciding on an academic career.   

Current research interests include:

• Communities of practice in health informatics education
• Communication in cross-functional teams
• The improvement of communication amongst allied health professionals involved in foster care
• Online social networks

• Health Information Systems Management
• Electronic Health Record
• Project Management for Health Professionals
• Representation and Management of Health Knowledge
• Health Research Methods

Hobbies and interests outside of work include: 

• being a volunteer for Anglicare and AngelFlight
• swimming, dancing, photography, and almost anything to do with aviation
• researching family history.
