Electronic Health RecordCourse Information:
Course Summary:The course focuses on the leading principles/theories of EHR research, design and development. It will also deal with issues of standardisation, security and human-computer interactions that impact on system design and utilisation. The relationship between EHR and telehealth will also be investigated. Students will use the knowledge gained to critically examine the role of EHR in facilitating healthcare information documentation, communication and shaping healthcare management. General Course Information:This course is aimed at Health Professionals who are currently involved or who are about to be involved in the implementation of the Electronic Health Record in their workplace environment. The CD is easy to use with course content, guidelines, contact details, assessment, welcome etc. All readings are posted together with a printout of the essential details of the course and the course CD. Prescribed textbooks (2) are to be purchased separately. Textbooks are: Degoulet, P & Fieschi, M, Introduction to Clinical Informatics, 1st Edition. Approx cost $111.76 van Bemmel, VH & Musel MA, Handbook of Medical Informatics, 1st Edition. Approx cost $78.32 Monash University Bookshop maintains a limited stock of textbooks, but will order books on request. Alternatively, several online bookstores sell both new and secondhand books, with a choice of either standard or expedited international delivery.
