Netscape LDAP info

If your netscape has not been configured, use the below instructions to get the best results:

Setting up Netscape to auto-look up Monash e-mail addresses as you type

  1. Go to the Communicator menu and choose Address Book
    (Ctrl+Shift+2, PC or option-shift-2, Mac)

  2. Choose File menu, New Directory then fill in the LDAP server properties as below:
    LDAP server: LDAP.monash.edu.au
    Search root: o = Monash University, c = au

Howto View / Print Mail Lists

  1. Go to the Communicator menu and choose Address Book
    (Ctrl+Shift+2, PC or option-shift-2, Mac)

  2. Select the Monash Directory Service from the list of Directories on the left

  3. Enter the name (or part of the name) of the team in the "Show names
    containing    " field and press enter to Search for eg allpathstaff (a list of matches willcome up in the right hand window perhaps even before you ress Search- you can type part of a name and candidate matches will be shown)

  4. Double click on the desired result you'll be able to view all the members and owners as a web
    page which can be printed or saved.

  5. If you click once only then click the New Msg button at the top of the window (or right click mouse) you can mail this group directly.
