Aged Mental Health Research Unit

The Aged Mental Health Research Unit is part of the Monash Ageing Research Centre based at Kingston Centre, Cheltenham, about 5km from Monash University’s Clayton campus. The Unit is also part of the School of Psychology, Psychiatry and Psychological Medicine.

Staff include psychiatrists and psychologists with expertise in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of the sorts of mental disorders experienced by older people. Their research interests include mood disorders, dementia, primary care, aged residential care, clinical audit and drug studies.

They also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of a range of disciplines at Monash and other Universities. Supervision is available to limited numbers of 4th year, Masters and Doctoral candidates.
