Professional Development Opportunities

The Department of Health Social Science offers a range of professional development opportunities for HIA which can be tailored to suit the requirements of any organisation. The Department has been commissioned to facilitate a range of training programs which have included two hour introductory sessions, one day introductory workshops and two day courses.

As of 2010, the Department of Health Social Science will offer a short course designed to meet the growing interest in HIA. Co-facilitated by Dr Mary Mahoney and Jessica McCormick, the Monash University HIA Short Course is structured to assist people learn about the processes of HIA, to develop a greater understanding of its utility in practice and enable participants to develop confidence in the technical skills required for using HIA in their professional practice. Participants will also have opportunities to network and share experiences with people with similar interests. Course cost entitles attendance at the entire program, all course materials, and morning/afternoon teas.
