Centre for Health Equity, Training, Research and Evaluation (CHETRE) This website provides useful tools and guidelines for conducting HIA and enables visitors to access a limited collection of published HIA reports. A unique HIA Blog has been established which provides up-to-date information about what is happening in the world of HIA. New ZealandNew Zealand Public Health Advisory Committee This website provides information on the latest HIA news in Newsletter, an overview of HIA, frequently asked questions about practical aspects of HIA and access to a diverse range of resources including recently completed HIA reports. Health, Wellbeing and Equity Impact Assessment (HIA Research Unit) This site provides useful information on the range of HIA activities occurring in NZ. The team in NZ undertakes research relating to HIA and evaluates HIAs conducted in New Zealand. EuropeWorld Health Organisation HIA Website European Centre for Health Policy National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, Netherlands This is a newly developed website that seeks to bring together a range of resources and guidelines on HIA. STAKES, National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health This website provides an overview of Human Impact Assessment. There approach seeks to integrate environmental and social impact assessment. EnglandHIA Gateway This is possibly the most well known HIA resource for practitioners. The HIA Gateway is currently undergoing redevelopment and its location is currently being debated. However, this website is particularly useful for those who are new to HIA. It provides a wealth of information including access to a comprehensive collection of HIA reports, a diverse range of HIA tools and guideline documents, information on training courses within the UK and a glossary of terms. Health Impact Assessment - London Health Commission International Health Impact Assessment Consortium - IMPACT The IMPACT site offers a comprehensive list of HIAs that have been undertaken within diverse sectors and provides useful information for individuals or organisations that require training in HIA. The Birmingham University - HIA Research Unit The HIA Research Unit at Birmingham University provides a range of research and practical resources linked to HIA. WalesWelsh Health Impact Assessment Support Unit – Cardiff Institute of Society, Health and Ethics (CISHE) This site provides useful information on the latest developments in HIA in Wales. The website aims to provide a resource to those currently practicing HIA and those who are new to it. Access to completed HIAs in Wales since 1997 and the team at CISHE continue to support a diverse range of organisations in their application of HIA at both national and local government levels. ScotlandNHS Lothian – Health Impact Assessment An overview of HIA, access to a range of completed HIAs in diverse sectors and useful HIA websites are provided on this website. The Republic of IrelandStrengthening Capacity - The Institute of Public Health in Ireland This site provides information on HIA developments and resources for people who want to conduct HIA. United States of AmericaUCAL, School of Public Health This website outlines a project being undertaken which explores the feasibility of HIA and aims to develop prototype HIAs to demonstrate how HIA methodologies can be applied to policy decisions in the US. The University of California at Berkeley Health Impact Group This group is a non-partisan, independent collective that emerged from a graduate seminar on HIA at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. CanadaPublic Health Agency of Canada This website provides an overview of HIA in the context of implementing a population health approach to policy development.
