Preconception Health Care Checklist User Guide

Our checklist (pdf, 129kb) is designed for general practitioners to use during preconception care consultations. The aim of the checklist is to increase the delivery of preconception care and to assist GPs in providing a comprehensive preconception care consultation.

Ideally we suggest the following structure to using the preconception care checklist (which is reflected in its formatting):

• that GPs initially undertake the history components of preconception care, undertake initial vaccinations and request any screening tests
• that patient's return for the results and any further necessary vaccinations and that lifestyle and nutrition advice and fertility advice be undertaken.
