My name is Ruba jaber and I am primarily a family doctor trained at Jordan University Hospital, Amman (Jordanian Board of Family Medicine). My special interests are in Women's and Child Health and are the reason that I commenced a 2-year Clinical Fellowship in the Department of General Practice from February 2011 in these areas. My Fellowship is sponsored by the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan
Many GPs / Family Physicians in active practice recognise the need for upgrading knowledge and skills, and some yearn for the intellectual stimulation which a structured program provides. In addition, those new to the profession may also wish to formalise and expand their knowledge and qualifications in specific areas. As adult learners each has specific needs, and may face barriers that must be overcome to meet these needs.
Recognising this, the Department of General Practice at Monash University established a range of postgraduate courses in Family Medicine. Since 1992, the Department has been successfully delivering training programs which not only meet the academic standards required of the University, but also contain subject matter which is relevant for day to day practice.
The Department of General Practice is proud to be able to extend an opportunity for doctors located outside of Australia to undertake a specialised occupational training program of their choice. Each program will be specifically designed to meet the needs of the individual and employer/sponsor.
