The key objective of Child Abuse Research Australia to achieve a permanent and effective reduction in the incidence of child abuse and the harm it causes to children and the community.Child Abuse Research Australia is a collaboration between Monash University and the Australian Childhood Foundation.

Contributions to the Centre will be used to conduct research that aims to:

• Evaluate the effectiveness of public policy and legislation in preventing child abuse and protecting children from violence;
• Develop innovative approaches that transform the lives of children who have suffered abuse, neglect and family violence;
• Create new resources that raise awareness and better inform the community about the problems of child abuse and family violence; and
• Build recognised programs that reduce the incidence of child abuse and family violence in Australia.

The research conducted by Child Abuse Research Australia positions children as key informants about their experiences of abuse and the systems designed to protect and support them, brings stakeholders together to develop common frameworks for understanding and shared commitments for action, and supports our advocacy for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
