Professor Karin Leder (MBBS, FRACP, PhD, MPH, DTMH) is an infectious diseases physician. She is the head of the Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Unit within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, and also works as a visiting specialist physician for the Victorian Infectious Disease Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her specific areas of interest include imported infections (travellers' health, health issues in immigrants and refugees) as well as waterborne infections, including health issues related to alternative water source exposures. She conducts research both in Australia and overseas, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. She is section editor of Travel Medicine for UpToDate, and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Travel Medicine and for Travel Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
