Aims

The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of key issues involved in scientific writing, and give practical examples and strategic advice for your career publications.

Overview

Topics include

·        Structure of a scientific paper

·        Good writing technique

·        Sources of research funding

·        How to write a good grant application

·        Electronic databases - literature searching and referencing

·        Getting published - dealing with the journals

Examples presented are from a variety of current studies, grant applications and manuscripts from this Department.
