Aims
|
To present a range of data management options and provide participants with the ability to evaluate them according to their project’s data management needs. To be able to complete practical data management tasks using sound practices.

Overview
|
On completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- Identify project features that influence the choice of data management tool
- Determine the feasibility of utilising existing electronic data sources through data linkage
- Understand features of web, desktop and other data management systems
- Evaluate a data capture system’s ease of use, data quality and data output capabilities
- Understand the differences between providers of data management software
- Complete data management tasks for a hypothetical study, using Microsoft Access
- Utilise sound data management practices
