Suitable for
|
People who: 1) are familiar with basic statistical concepts such as medians, confidence intervals and p-values, 2) have not encountered survival analysis methods before, and 3) who are familiar with, or have undertaken an introductory workshop to, Stata statistical software.

Aims
|
To provide a thorough introduction to basic survival analysis concepts and methods, and to cover selected advanced issues. To provide training that enables people to perform their own survival analyses in the Stata 11 statistical software package.

- Kaplan-Meier survival curves and the log-rank test
- Hazard function
- Cox proportional hazards regression model
- Testing for non-proportional hazards
- Time-dependent covariates
- Parametric survival models: Weibull and Exponential
- Using Stata to conduct survival analyses
