Aims

The course aims to give a broad overview of the problems raised by chronic diseases in Australia in the early 21st century. It aims to cover

  •  major disease groups
  • methods used to measure the occurrence and impact of these conditions
  • methods to manage and prevent these conditions.

Overview

The program will include:

Burden due to major diseases

Cardiovascular conditions
Diabetes mellitus
Obesity
Cancer
Health promotion and control of chronic diseases
Economics of chronic disease
