This course will cover some basic and commonly used statistical methods (e.g., classification of data, summary statistics, sampling distribution, confidence interval and hypothesis test. At the end of this course student will learn to analyze data, explain the results, report the findings and also be able to critically appraise the published reports and journal articles. |

The focus of this course is on specific important chronic diseases e.g. cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes, mental health etc. This course will discuss aspects of disease burden, risk factors, and prevention and control as a common thread throughout the different diseases. |

Research with Vulnerable Populations
Dr Deborah Zion
This course investigates the ethics of research where potential participants experience human rights deprivations, or other issues around diminished autonomy. Researchers and practitioners in the field bring their expertise to bear on populations such as refugees , people living in poverty, combat zones, or those seeking asylum, those with mental illness, children, and other sexual or ethnic minorities. We investigate how a research partnership might be formed with these vulnerable populations.

Australian Certificate of Civil Aviation Medicine

This course is run in conjunction with CASA and trains medical practitioners to become designated aviation medical examiners. It is also popular with nurses, particularly those working in medical retrieval. This course can also be completed as an elective in many of our postgraduate courses. |
