Dr Joel Symons is a senior lecturer in  Anaesthesia at Monash Univeristy and a fulltime staff anaesthetist at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. His interests include Perioperative Medicine, Airway management, Neuroanaesthesia and Acute Pain management. He is convenor of the new short course in Perioperative Medicine which is being developed in close collaboration with Professor Paul Myles, Head of the Academic Board of Anaesthesia, Monash Univeristy, and Departmental Head of The Alfred Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.
