Research Officer
Contact details
Louise Phillips has come to DEPM from an unusual background. She was awarded her PhD for studies in marine biology - more specifically in the taxonomy of red seaweeds! For the past year she has been working in the Alfred Emergency and Trauma Centre and at DEPM is now working on establishing a Haemostasis Registry. This registry is intended to record all uses of recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa or NovoSeven). This is a drug which is licensed for use in some haemophiliacs but is increasingly being used off-label for a variety of non-haemophiliac patients with life threatening bleeding. The Registry will record details of use, efficacy, dose, adverse events and outcomes for uses of rFVIIa throughout Australia.
