Angela Brennan completed Registered Nurse training in 1985 at Prince Henry’s Hospital, Melbourne.  In 1988 Angela undertook a post-graduate Critical Care course at Royal Melbourne Hospital, specialising in Coronary Care.  Over the next 9 years, Angela worked in CCU part time and also had two children.  In 1997 Angela moved to the specialist area of Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and in 1999 took over as the Nurse Manager of this department at Western Hospital Footscray where she oversaw the introduction of the new Interventional Cardiology Service.  Roles in Project Management & Department of Admissions & Booking Management were undertaken in 2002-2003 at Western Hospital.

Angela commenced at CCRE in mid 2004 as the co-ordinator for the Melbourne Interventional Group (MIG) project. The MIG group have developed a registry which captures cardiac interventional procedures and then 30 day & 12 month follow up of patients across 7 Victorian public hospitals. The group has published 4 papers in peerreview journals and are currently working on an additional 6 manuscripts. Additionally, MIG have presented 16 abstracts at national conferences and 4 abstracts at international meetings. Later this year the group will present 14 abstracts at the CSANZ meeting and 2 abstracts will be presented at the ESC meeting.
