Geza Benke graduated in physics in 1978 from the University of Melbourne. He subsequently completed his PhD in epidemiology at Monash University. After spending eleven years in state government and OHS consulting, he was appointed Radiation Protection Officer for Monash University in 1992. Geza was appointed Research Fellow in the Unit of Occupational and Environmental Health in 1994.

His principal research interests include occupational/environmental epidemiological exposure assessment of physical and chemical hazards, exposure methodology, occupational cancer and respiratory epidemiology.
