Mahendra Arnold is a Visiting Academic in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine.

Arnold has a Doctorate in Community Medicine and worked as a Specialist in Public Health in the Environmental and Occupational Health Unit which is the national focal point for Environmental & Occupational Health in the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. His activities include coordinating national level activities related to environmental health, occupational health and food safety, building partnerships with other national level agencies in promoting environmental & occupational health, training of primary health care workers and functioning as the National Ccoordinator of the National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Elimination Program.
