Sheila Cyril

Research Assistant

Sheila Cyril is a Research Assistant with the IPHU and is currently working with the DHA-funded MOODCARE Project, a three year randomised controlled trial which investigates the effectiveness of a telephone-delivered intervention on health outcomes of depressed heart attack patients. She is also working on the Australasian Peers for Progress Diabetes Program Project, a peer support program for people with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, Sheila is assisting with the co-ordination of the upcoming AMREP World Health Day and various international projects in the unit.

Sheila graduated with an undergraduate degree in medicine in India and she has recently completed the Master of Public Health degree at Monash University. Her current interests involve working in prevention programs targeting chronic disease management in an ageing population.
