Naanki Pasricha

Project Manager

Naanki Pasricha is a project manager in the International Public Health Unit. She is involved in two major international projects for the unit, including the ASCEND (Asian Collaboration for Excellence in Non-Communicable Disease) Research Network. This is a 5-year program funded by US NIH aimed at capacity building in Sri Lanka, India and Malaysia to build a regional network of researchers to lead research in the area of non-communicable diseases in the Asia region. Naanki is also involved with the Kerala Diabetes Prevention Program (K-DPP). This program is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of a culturally-specific group-based lifestyle intervention program for people at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes.  

Naanki is currently completing a Master of Public Health (International Health) and has an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology. As a speech pathologist, Naanki worked in Bangladesh assisting with the development of the first speech and language therapy course in Bangladesh and was involved specifically with setting up speech therapy services for children post cleft palate repair in rural areas. Naanki is interested in disability in developing countries and looking at how to translate research into policy.
