The ASCEND (Asian Collaboration for Excellence in Non-Communicable Disease) Research Network was launched at Monash University Sunway Campus by Dr Lokman Hakim Solaiman, Deputy Director General of Health, Malaysia on Monday 13th June 2011.

From the 28th to the 30th of May a workshop was held at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, India, to discuss and progress plans for the Kerala Diabetes Prevention Program.

On April 7th 2011, around 200 people, including local and international speakers, panelists and participants converged in Melbourne for the fifth annual Alfred Medical Research Education Precinct (AMREP) World Health Day Conference.

TLC Diabetes
Diabetes Australia - Queensland and Victoria - are funding IPHU to update and further develop the capabilities of the Australian TLC Diabetes system, which has been shown to improve the glycemic control and mental-health-quality of-life of participants with type 2 diabetes in a recently completed randomised controlled trial - Aus TLC DM Mark II.
