Summer Semester Enrolments

Summer Semester Application and Unit Enrolment

Students wishing to complete a unit over summer semester may apply using the Summer Semester Enrolment Form, available from the teaching School/Department.  You must apply by the closing date specified on the form.  Late applications may be accepted subject to the availability of places and will be assessed on a case by case basis.

You will receive written confirmation if you are successful with your application to enrol in a summer semester unit (this may be a copy of your enrolment form, stamped by the School/Department).

Please note: You will not be able to enrol yourself into the unit(s) via WES.  You will be able to view your enrolment into a summer semester unit once the form has been processed by your managing faculty.

Pre- and Co-requisite Units

The pre- and co-requisites are outlined in the unit description in the University Handbook.

IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to confirm that any summer semester units completed will count towards your current degree and that you have met any pre- and co-requisite requirements.  If you have any queries you should contact your School/Department or managing faculty before enrolling in the summer unit.

Discontinuation Dates for Summer Semester

You should note that the dates to discontinue from summer semester units are listed in the Summer Semester Unit Offerings table. If you do not withdraw prior to these dates you will incur the financial and/or academic penalty for the unit, as indicated.

Fees for Summer Semester

The Faculty offers some summer units as a CSP, however it is important to check the Summer Semester Units Offering table for details.  The University offers summer and winter semester units as a CSP.  In some cases the Faculty will offer the units at full-fee rate.

Please refer to the above table to ascertain if a unit is being offered on a CSP or full-fee basis for CSP students.

If you are an Australian citizen, humanitarian visa holder, or a domestic full fee paying student you may also have the option of accessing FEE-HELP for any unit(s) you enrol in over summer semester.  The request for FEE-HELP assistance form must be completed by the 30 November 2011.

Course/Unit Advice

Please contact the unit coordinator in the appropriate teaching School/Department, listed in the Handbook entry for the unit.  Alternatively, please contact your course administrator.

Unit Cancellation

Every effort will be made to ensure that units on offer will run.  However, a unit may be cancelled up to one week prior to its commencement if there are insufficient enrolments.  If the unit is cancelled all students enrolled will be advised in writing prior to the commencement of the unit.

Results

Results for summer semester will be released on 1st March 2012.  Result publications details can be found at the Exams and Results webpage.
