All students in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Scholars) and the Bachelor of Biomedical Science Advanced with Honours are required to enrol in a full-time load, which is normally a total of 48 credit points at each year level. Course structure and requirements are explained on the Bachelor of Biomedical Science webpage.
Students wishing to accelerate their studies need to make an appointment with the course advisor to plan a program that reflects their interest and that takes into consideration their academic background.

Please note that you must meet all the unit prerequisites rules, and must abide by the relevant Faculty's rules and regulations. It is also your responsibility to ensure that your elective choices do not clash with your core unit timetable. You must also ensure that your choices meet course requirements.
The electives must include at least one research in action unit (BCH3990, DEV3990, IMM3990, MIC3990, MIS3990, PHA3990 or PHY3990) in the second or third year of the course.
First Year First Year Students must complete two elective units in addition to the six core units. Please remember to choose your electives.
Second Year Second Year Students must complete two elective units in addition to the six core units. Please remember to choose your electives.
Third Year Third Year Students must complete six elective units in addition to the two core units. At least four of your third year electives must be from the biomedical sciences areas. These units begin with the prefixes BCH, BME, BMS, BND, BNS, CEL, DEV, GEN, HUP, IMM, MIC, MIS, PHA and PHY. Students may take the remaining two electives from other Faculties.
