Julia is an Emergency Physician from Dandenong Hospital with a long-standing interest in Medical Education. Since 2001 she has spent half of her working week involved in education related activities at both post-graduate and under-graduate level. She completed the Graduate Certificate of Health Professional Education at Monash University in 2004. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Department of Medicine, Southern Clinical School. Julia is also an Instructor with the SouthernHealth Simulation Centre where she has been teaching teamwork and resuscitation skills to multidisciplinary groups since 2001.

Julia has broad educational interests including simulation-based education, PBL, teaching and learning clinical skills, professionalism, curriculum development and Patient Safety education.

Julia was a recipient of the Vice-Chancellors award for teaching excellence at Monash University in 2007.
