Background:

Geoff’s background is in residential adolescent care, juvenile justice, high school biology teaching and university teacher education. His learning and teaching activities have focused upon how to cater for learner diversity, curriculum design and innovative teaching strategies. Geoff has particular interests in loss and grief education, the development of engaging and challenging online learning environments and effective teaching in general.

Although Geoff's primary professional activities have been located within teacher education since he completed over a decade of high school teaching in the late 80s, he has also studied, researched and consulted in the health sector. He has conducted research in intensive care nursing education, quality assurance in relation to national organ donation practices and has managed a variety of program evaluation studies in the education and health domains.

Geoff is vitally interested in exploring options for maintaining a viable balance between his professional life and his life with wife Lyn and daughters Jessica and Sarah. He is also passionate about learning environments and workplaces that are safe, supportive, engaging, challenging and inclusive of all participants.

Geoff coordinates the CMHSE Master of Health Professional Education course, teaches within the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education and is the Academic Advisor for Years 1 and 5 of the Monash MBBS course.
