Background:

With a background in intensive care nursing, Debra taught and co-ordinated postgraduate acute case courses for Monash University for over 9 years. She took up her current position in the Centre for Medical & Health Sciences Education in 2003 to pursue her interests in health professional education. Debra has a previously been involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of educational technologies. She has produced a number of interactive computer simulations such as the ‘The Virtual Patient’, “The Virtual Ward’ and ‘Virtual Haemodynamics’. In her time at the Centre, Debra has been actively involved in curriculum development for a range of health professional groups particularly in the area of clinical skills, simulated patients and interprofessional learning. She has recently developed a new staff development program for the Centre. Her teaching and research interests include interprofessional learning, simulation, simulated patients, clinical teaching and learning and assessment. She is currently pursuing a PhD which combines many of these interests.
