Simulated Patient Program

Simulated Patients (SPs) are actors and lay-people who work casually, adopting a specific role in order to facilitate health professional education.

SPs are used in a variety of settings, including teaching communication, teaching clinical skills and during assessments.

SPs are trained to portray the specific aspects of a case, including symptoms, medical history and social history. SPs are often given additional training, such as how to give feedback to students so they can be actively involved in guiding health professional students' learning.

If you are interested in becoming a Simulated Patient, please contact Sheryl Cardozo for more information on:

Alternatively, please fill out the Simulated Patient Information Form, and post it to Sheryl at the address given below. Please attach a photo when you return your form in order for us to best cast you in appropriate roles, given the age range you can play. Please note that this need not be a professional head shot; rather, something for us to get an idea of what you look like.
