The Purpose of the Think Tank
The Patient Safety Education Think Tank focussed on key issues around patient safety surrounding International Medical Graduates (IMGs).
The objectives for the Think Tank were to:
- To engage in a wide-ranging discussion on patient safety with an emphasis on IMGs;
- To identify key principles of patient safety in the workplace;
- To identify the impact of the utilisation of workplace assessment on patient safety and its systematic effects;
- To provide participants an opportunity to interact with each other to enable cross-fertilisation of ideas;
- To lead to the development of a coordinated statewide approach to patient safety and IMG issues across the State of Victoria.
