Teaching in the clinical setting

This workshop will explore some foundational principles of clinical teaching and will introduce participants to a range of practical and effective clinical teaching strategies applied to their own context. Key topic areas will include:

  • Characteristics of a ‘good’ clinical teacher
  • The role of the clinical teacher
  • Role modelling
  • Orientating learners to the clinical environment
  • How to teach a skill
  • Teaching with patients in the clinical setting
