Resources of the Department

The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences as part of the development of its undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging, and Post Graduate Initiatives, maintains teaching and learning resources to service both its teaching and research.

Radiography rooms and CT Scanner

The Department utilises lecture facilities located close to its physical location including a Student Resource and Computer Learning Facility.

The Department, in conjunction with the School of Physics and Materials Engineering has a series of radiographic teaching facilities. Two general radiographic examination suites and a large viewing area are located within the School of Physics and Materials Engineering. These clinical quality radiographic facilities are used in practical teaching of radiation and radiographic methods. These facilities are located in Building 27, Room G34. A further radiographic room is used to teach basic radiation physics and radiographic principles it is also located in the Physics department in Building 27. Several Physics computing laboratories and physics laboratories are also used in the teaching of the subjects of the course involving studies in basic radiation physics, ultrasonics and dosimetry.

The Department, also in conjunction with the School of Physics, has a Computed Tomography Suite in Building 27, Room G47. Students complete tasks and exercises in radiation physics and radiography methods using this facility.
